Whether or not you have received mental health care in the past, it is completely natural to be curious about our services, facilities and policies. Below, you will find quick responses to some of our most frequently asked questions.

How to contact me?

You can call the office number (606) 400-2227. If I do not answer, I am with a patient. Leave a message. I try my best to get back to you within 24 hours. If you are a patient, you can contact me through the client/patient portal.

Can I bring family members or friends to my appointment?

Absolutely!!! Feel free to bring someone with you. The choice is entirely yours.

If you are less than 18 years old, I require that a parent or guardian be present for the first visit.

*Pending means that I have applied to take your insurance to be in network with them. I should be able to take the pending insurances soon. You will not be able to use your insurance until I am credentialed with your insurance. I will update these once credentialing is complete. 

*I do provide superbills for patients who want to see me as a client but I am not credentialed with. You need to check your insurance company to see if you have out-of-network provider coverage.

* Please be advised that it is the client's responsibility to verify coverage for Enlighten Mental Wellness and the provider Misty Goldson.

What ages do you treat?

I treat ages 5 through 65.

Anything I should know?

I do not prescribe benzodiazepines  (Xanax, Valium, Ativan, etc.) due to several concerns which may include addiction and dependence, tolerance to the medication overtime, side effects, and withdrawal symptoms.

I do not provide emotional support letters due to liability concerns. Thank you for your understanding.

​I do not provide forensic examinations, as these require specialized training and are outside the scope of my practice. Forensic examinations involve legal evaluations, often related to criminal or civil cases, which necessitate a different set of expertise and responsibilities.
